JMC (aka J. Melnick and Co) was founded in Cape Town over 100 years ago. Since 1970 it has been part of the Melbro Group of Companies, one of the largest privately owned trading concerns in South Africa.

JMC is in the business of brand-building; making a carefully-selected range of premium international food brands available, to discerning customers, throughout the Southern African region.

Sustained FMCG success depends not only on brand intrinsics and communication, but also, critically, on the extent to which the brand is optimally exposed in the market place. Much of what we in JMC do is about getting this exposure right.

When the founding partners of JMC started their modest import company in 1902, they had no idea it would grow into the business machine it is today. A business machine which is behind the importation, distribution and marketing of some of South Africa’s leading premium food and beverage brands; providing our customers with superior service in every major city in South and Southern Africa.

When you select one of the premium brands we deal with off the supermarket shelf, chances are you don’t give much thought to how it got there. And so you shouldn’t! That’s our job. We at JMC partner with selected premium brands, crafting and implementing tailored, integrated and comprehensive solutions through a combination of JMC’s internal capabilities and those of external service partners.
